Aron

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>><<<<<<<<< <<<<<<<<<<<<<< ARON HI!! Aron has been playing in bands since high school. He started his first band with Ben Chasny when they were 17. He left the quiet northern town of Eureka and moved to southern California where he spent a year or so as a roadie for a couple of hardcore and indie bands in Orange County and San Diego. He was making friends with people like three mile pilot (Black Heart Procession, Pinback) , Clikatat Ikatowi and Henry's dress. He moved to the bay area in 1995 and started working with his friend Yoshi (drummer of Aisler’s Set) in a band that would become Scenic Vermont. Scenic Vermont consisted of Aron playing guitar and singing, Yoshi Nakamoto singing, drumming and guitar, Brooks Bonstin (Rapture) playing bass and Jules playing the drums all the rest of the time. They toured the states with friends and artists like Modest Mouse, 764-Hero and Strictly Ballroom (Dntel, Beachwood Sparks) and Track Star. They released 2 45’s and 12 inch on Suicide Squeeze. A label that has since released songs from Minus the Bear, Modest Mouse, Elliot Smith and Pedro the Lion. Doug Marsch was a fan of Scenic Vermont by the end of their existence. When the group split Aron focused his energies on all things electronic. Always having an scary obsession with drum machines he began using samplers when all the other indie kids were still too afraid to say WARP was cool. Eventually the scene seemed to stall in the bay area and Aron had plans to move to the UK. When he did in 2000 he wanted to make sure that the next band was going to be something you couldn’t pin a label to. In the past 2 years he’s pretty much accomplished this by combining all the slack guitar “techniques” he’s always had with a good helping of devastating beat mashing and almost intolerable sub bass. People that have seen him play with his new band (Phil – Drums, Mirte – Vocals and Samples, Tom – Bass) have been left wanting to hear more un-definable, beautifully rich sound. The songs come together like puzzle pieces that Aron persuades to fit regardless of their shape. Lush arrangements that easily swell into sonic clusters of hell then back again. More recently Aron has played in Bristol with acts such as Safetyword, Kid Carpet and The Sea & Cake. Currently as a two piece Aron and Phil are planning a tour through the Netherlands, Germany and France for 2 weeks in preparation of an independent release. On tour between February 27th and March 9th (to be in the Berlin area around the 1st of March). Please let us know if you can help us regarding booking or anyone that might want to play with us. I know this looks like spam but it isn't we really want shows :D Thank you for your time.
